Vanguard Health Office was founded by a practising NHS consultant geriatrician with a specific conviction: that UHNW families — despite their extraordinary access to resources — are systematically under-served when it comes to health governance.
The financial advisors, legal teams, and family offices who serve these families are excellent at what they do. None of them govern the health picture. That gap is what we exist to close — not through clinical care, but through structured, owned governance frameworks that ensure clarity when it matters most.
Our practice is non-clinical, non-regulated, and built from the ground up for families where discretion is not optional.
We build frameworks, assign ownership, and create accountability structures around health. We do not advise on health decisions themselves. The distinction is fundamental — and it is where our value lies.

A standalone structured governance assessment using the Vanguard Health Governance Index — producing a scored gap map, a written findings report, and a prioritised action plan. The entry point to every Vanguard engagement.
The VHGI is the first structured, modular health governance framework designed specifically for ultra-high-net-worth families. Five universal core domains are completed for every client. Eight extension modules are selected based on the family’s profile and complexity.
The index is advisor-led — not a self-completion questionnaire. It surfaces governance gaps, assigns ownership, and produces an actionable plan in a single session. Every check is validated by one simple piece of evidence: a named owner, a dated note, or a file reference.
The VHGI is non-clinical. It governs the systems, relationships, and frameworks that surround health — ensuring they are structured, owned, and ready.

Every engagement follows a structured four-stage process — from profile and module selection through to a live, owned action plan delivered in the same session.
A confidential call to understand the family’s situation, profile the relevant governance domains, and determine which VHGI modules apply.
A structured 30–60 minute session with the principal, family office, and where relevant the spouse — completing the VHGI and surfacing gaps.
A written findings report delivered within five working days — scoring each domain, interpreting each gap, and presenting a prioritised action plan.
A structured review retainer — quarterly or annual — ensuring the governance framework stays live, actions are tracked, and the picture is updated as life changes.

Our services are advisory in nature and are designed to fall outside the scope of CQC-regulated activity. All engagements are conducted under a formal engagement letter defining scope and confidentiality obligations.
All initial enquiries are handled personally and in strict confidence. We do not operate a call centre or general enquiries line. Every conversation begins with the principal, their family office, or their trusted advisor.
